i thought i wanted something else
'twas always on my mind,
begging me for attention
taking me away

i thought i wanted to be famous
not a celebrity, but known --
recognizable as me
but fame is cheap

1 thought i wanted to be wise
not a genius, but deep
a reliable resource
but opinions are thin

all i really want is to be Yours
not a wanderer, but safe
sitting in Your presence
an oasis in desert sand
