The Thunder Rolls by

The thunder goes rolling by
Like a train on the stereo
The rain sheets are pulled across
The horizon's bed

Sitting here on this porch
Swinging in this old swing
Reminds me of the simpler life
That you promised me

Why not now?
Is it too early or late?
Is there a reason I don't see
Somethin that is making me wait?
Why not here?
Can it begin with just two?
Can we work it all out
So I can stay here with you?
Listening to the wind
Elbowing through the trees
While the birds are calling out
The rising storm

There's nothing else left
that I haven't already tried
Nothing more for me to say
That I haven't already said

Why not now?
Is it too early or late?
Is there a reason I don't see
Somethin that is making me wait?
Why not here?
Can it begin with just two?
Can we work it all out
So I can stay here with you?

sometimes the harder we try there is just somethings that can never be forgotten. The more we ask the more we do not get. Are any of us that forgiving. It is a vicous cycle of life
