Christmas thing
All the lights are on the tree,
and I am on the couch
It feels like a lot of work to me,
but maybe I'm a slouch
To hurry and shove, push and rush
To get a present for me
Doesn't really improve things much
Or create a season of peace
So let's leave the lights up
Give little gifts all year round
And then we can all catch up
In the extra time we've found
We can be better friends
we can make better love
And the means will bring an end
That we'll be more proud of
