real genius

It didn't take me long from when she came into the class;
I felt something shift, and my heart was falling fast.
The way she walked, the way she talked, the way she raised her hand--
I knew then that girl was bound to get this man.

The professor was impressed, hey we all were --
It's not often a real genius looks as good as her!
Some of her answers I didn't even understand;
I was concentrating on how to hold her hand.

We shared a bunsen burner in advanced Chem lab.
And hot? In that white coat, she was in no way drab!
She knew exactly what would happen when stuff got mixed;
I was plannin on a chain reaction with my first kiss.
There's a rocket scientist beyond all that stylin;
There's a prodigy behind that smile.
There's a biological chemistry that keeps me tryin
To carry her trig books an extra mile.
But the real genius in this unlikely situation
is in how I'm gonna make her mine
yeah, the real genius is mine
I'm gonna make this genius mine.
I'm not really that dumb at getting this philosophy
But if I act real stuck, maybe she'll explain it all to me.
And in the middle of Kant, I can rationalize a kiss --
An existential exercise I hope she won't resist.

I'm standing inside her door; she's wearin that black dress
You know it finally happened, she eventually said yes
There on the desk where she thinks I cannot see
Is an algorithm drawn out -- how to get a date with me!
There's a rocket scientist beyond all that stylin;
There's a prodigy behind that smile.
There's a biological chemistry that keeps me tryin
To carry her trig books an extra mile.
But the real genius in this unlikely situation
is in how I'm gonna make her mine
yeah, the real genius is mine
I'm gonna make this genius mine.
Ooo, gonna make her mine
I'm gonna be her man
Ooo, not gonna waste time
I'm thinkin up a genius plan
