without a trace of goodbye

i'm not an artist, at least not the award winning kind
I'm not a poet, whose works gain value over time
I'm just a rambler spilling words from my mind
Not filling in much detail, content with the outline
I want to circumscribe your heart
I want to draw a circle round our lives
I want to outline you lips
I want to trace the source of your sighs
I want to paint you into my corner
hold you through the hows and the whys
and if I can, I want to draw you here to me,
without a trace of goodbye.

Some things last forever, at least that is how it seems
Some times are remembered, others fade into dreams
All our times have woven together into these memories
That won't go away, so won't you let me, please
I want to circumscribe your heart
I want to draw a circle round our lives
I want to outline you lips
I want to trace the source of your sighs
I want to paint you into my corner
hold you through the hows and the whys
and if I can, I want to draw you here to me,
without a trace of goodbye.
