treasure

a treasure discovered quietly
glimmers in the moon's light
yellow sheen
flash of green
jewels set on alabaster white

stretching out to be gathered in
collected in a long embrace
precious bangles
golden tangles
pressed now against my face

for greater gain I must let go
all that I hold and cherish
gold's warm hues
stones' red and blue
released before they perish
