wedding

let the valley bells ring
let everything
that has breath make a joyful sound
let the mountains over there
shout and declare
what a great love you've found
turn a page
start a brand new age
let history be the past
put your hand in his
as you start again
watch love grow and last
let the big bands play
all through the day
while the guests gather round to dance
with a healing heart
you're gonna make a brand new start
with mercy's every morning chance
turn a page
start a brand new age
let history be the past
put your hand in his
as you start again
watch love grow and last
a great big smile
been a while
but morning's joy is here, so laugh
a steadfast love
never gives up
and his has been built to last
turn a page
start a brand new age
let history be the past
put your hand in his
as you start again
watch love grow and last

watch this love grow and last

This was written in celebration of the upcoming wedding of a dear friend. I also drew upon the memory of my younger sister's wedding (last year) -- a time of page-turning. :)
