saguaro

Walking among the saguaro
Late in the afternoon
It wasn't a cowboy she saw
when she looked up on the ridge
Just a man she could count on to
sing her a little song like this
A man to hold her closely
in the chill of the desert night
and say a prayer to Jesus
that all will be right
