I talked to moss

I walked and talked to moss today
green life growing amidst the decay of
wet wood eaten away by worms.

There, under a sun hidden by clouds
I found secrets lost behind nature's shroud
and my own lack of seeking.

Green spores spoke loudly of the one
Creator whose purpose was not left undone
By moss-life living in the death of the tree.
