girl with a gun

just down the road where the pavement ends
that's where the real adventure is
By the big red house with a tin-roof shed
Risking your life, maybe waking up dead

She was always out back making some noise
She had silhouettes with the names of ex-boys
that's why daddy used to say to me, "Son,"
"never take your eyes off a girl with a gun"
She's gotta glock, probably an Uzzi too
She ain't dangerous, lessin she's comin after you
Ya gonna be quittin? ya'd better not start
If you want to walk away without a hole in your heart
Didn't surprise me when she walked up to me
Green eyes flashing, and all pretty as can be
She was gorgeous --  for sure, the drop-dead kind
But the only ones who said that were outa their minds

I took her hand, and we headed toward the lane
Where the pavement ends and nothin's been the same
when we're not out back, we're inside makin noise
And shootin with her is one of life's greatest joys
She's gotta glock, probably an Uzzi too
She ain't dangerous, lessin she's comin after you
Ya gonna be quittin? ya'd better not start
If you want to walk away without a hole in your heart
never take your eyes off a girl with a gun
