caught in between

charging ahead like the Light Brigade
running through deadly pass
looking at my watch now and again
hoping to find that time has
stood still under Joshua's watchful gaze
nothing is quite what we had planned
everything is what it is
and if I can get my head past
the question of 'why?' and 'if'
there is a chance I'll finally understand
but meanwhile I'm caught in between
things that surround me
and the things unseen
things remembered
and those yet known
twix the understated and
the grossly overblown
and it's driving me mad
flailing fish in the silver bucket
dear Liza, I believe there's a hole
unravel the perimeter that has me stuck
in the middle of the worlds below
on a sandy court with a hockey puck
but meanwhile I'm caught in between
things that surround me
and the things unseen
things remembered
and those yet known
twix the understated and
the grossly overblown
and it's driving me mad

Psalms 9:10 And those who have knowledge of your name will put their faith in you; because you, Lord, have ever given your help to those who were waiting for you.

It was good, but what happened to your simple, cowboy grammatic prose? You need a little more aints and caints. I like the 'pick-ups' of some of the classics like 'Charge of the light brigade' and 'Dear Liza'.
Now I'll be singing that tune in my head all day, twix everything else. Or is it twixt?
A little Twain in there? (Not Shania either)
