Waiting on the blues

Waiting all my life for something better than I had
Thought I was always waiting on you
Found out I’ve been waiting for me all along
So now I’m here just waiting on the blues

Too many yesterdays have come and gone
Too many times have run out of time
Now there’s not a minute left to lose
’Cos the blame to spread is all mine
There’s no way
For me to get the things done
What can I say?
My heart’s always been on the run.
I’ve been afraid
That what I’d risk I would lose
So today
I’m sittin here waiting on the blues
I know what’s coming and there’s no escape
Figured this ending long time ago
Like a farmer’s harvest, reaping what I’ve sown
And here I am with nothing to show
There’s no way
For me to get the things done
What can I say?
My heart’s always been on the run.
I’ve been afraid
That what I’d risk I would lose
So today
I’m sittin here waiting on the blues

This was a good one!

All you need is some good strummin' and you've got a great country/blues song.
Kind of like 'Blue eyes cryin' in the rain' by Willie.
I always enjoy your stuff and this wasn't weighted down with any $20 words. Just nice, simple and to the point.

I like these lyrics. "My heart’s always been on the run." This line says so much.

Thanks for sharing.
