then we whip out the sanctioned documentation of our true intent
flash it around
thump it down
slide it (magstripe left, please)
protesting the whole affair as quite unneeded

when I needed reassurance, you simply showed up
waited patiently
listened carefully
smiled gently
spoke softly
and poured grace upon whom grace was needed
